Heat is a new company providing a comprehensive range of heating, plumbing and electrical services in the Medway area. How are we different? Heat operate a clear upfront pricing policy. For breakdowns, servicing and landlords checks labour is charged per ¼ hour - see below. A cost breakdown is provided for installations. We are technical specialists. Our in-depth knowledge of boilers allows us to diagnose problems quickly and first time, to get you up and running fast. What services do we provide? HEAT provide a range of services, Including: * Boiler repairs and breakdowns * Central heating installations * Service & repair of all domestic gas appliances * Landlords certificates * Range cookers and systems * LPG systems * Electrical heating systems * Electrical installations and testing * Internal plumbing * Power flushes How much will you pay? For servicing, landlords certificates and breakdown repairs our labour charges are as below, all inclusive of VAT where applicable. We will always endeavour to give an accurate estimate of how much the overall charge will be before the first 15 minutes has elapsed. Parts are charged at our suppliers' retail list price. A full breakdown of labour and parts is provided for installations. Standard rate: Mon-Fri 7am-6pm Sat 7am-1pm : first 15 mins £45, thereafter £15 per 15 mins Evening/weekend rate: Mon-Fri 6pm-10pm Sat 1pm-10pm Sun 7am-10pm Public holidays 7am-10pm:first 15 mins £75, thereafter £30 per 15 mins Unsociable hours rate: Mon-Sun 10pm-7am :first 15 mins £90, thereafter £30 per 15 mins Charges as on 1st May 2008 Is there any such thing as a free call out? Many companies offer a 'free' call out service. However, it is financially unviable for companies not to charge for this initial visit. The cost instead will be included in the final bill for the work subsequently carried out. There is nothing unusual about this, but we aim to be clear so we tell you the charge upfront. The minimum you will pay is £45, but you are only charged this once per job. When a part has to be ordered for example, our return visit will be at £15 per ¼ hour. You will not however be charged for quotes on larger installations as we understand the need to compare prices with other companies. How do we keep our costs down for you? We are at our most efficient the more jobs we successfully complete on the first visit and as quickly as possible. We achieve this by constantly reviewing the parts we keep on our vehicles and by highlighting at regular intervals any training that will help our engineers keep labour costs low for our customers. This is turn keeps costs down for you. You too can help us to achieve this. See below for tips on minimising our labour charges. How can you help? Clear the area around and below your appliance or the area where you think the fault lies to allow the engineer to get in and get on! For heating breakdowns it might be a good idea to clear the airing cupboard and loft access as well. For intermittent problems think about the best way to describe the fault before we call - the more info we have from the outset the quicker we can diagnose and repair the problem, saving you time and money. Have ready any documentation relating to the appliance or system you have. While we have technical details and parts info for many manufacturers and models yours may be the exception!
